The concept of Universeboard.com was born out of the reality that most of the space websites on the internet today, whether it's concerning popular science or astrophysics - Lack the design, but most importantly the functionality that a website in the 2010's should have. Space enthusiasts flock at Social Networks like Twitter and Facebook every day, for understandable reasons - The problem is that they are directed at the general public. But shouldn't we have our own Social network? A social network truly optimized for space enthusiasts? That's the idea behind Universe Board. The idea to attract both space enthusiasts, amateur astronomers and even astrophysicists to the same social network.

Define what functionality in the 2010's mean?

Starting off you will see the same functions on Universeboard as you do on Twitter/Facebook, optimized for our purpose, this means things like a friend system connecting via a Wall/News feed, Messages, Chatting, Advanced profiles, Photo & Video uploading/sharing, and so on. But we'll stretch even further than that, you will be able to create and manage blogs, you can write and publish articles and papers on different matters. And the most well-made artifact will obviously be the discussion board or "Forum". Dividing into sub sections intended for "beginner space enthusiasts", amateur astronomers and advanced astronomy intended for astrophysicists. As well as the ability to discuss different matters like the earth and the moon, Mars, Saturn, The solar system, Human spaceflight, Black holes, supernovas, distant galaxies and everything space related in-between..
Universeboard.com will launch in the spring of 2012.
